"I'm Not Recording the Next One" — He Said It. I Heard It. We Posted This Anyway.

Or: What happens when your all-over-the-place energy meets his need for space, and you both choose to stay (even when walking away feels easier) — raw, real, and the most powerful episode yet

Hey you,

Okay so... deep breath ... I need to tell you about this week's episode.

Because honestly? This one almost didn't happen.

Actually, scratch that — it DID happen. We recorded for 80 minutes. But it was... a lot.

I cried. Twice.
We took 2 breaks.
Tomash felt like he had no space.
I felt judged.

And in the end, he said: "Maybe next episode I won't record with you."

I heard it. The mic heard it. And we're posting it anyway.

Because THIS — the messy, raw, "oh my god are we really fighting about this right now" moments — THIS is what real love actually looks like.

What Even Happened?

Here's the thing: we woke up at 5:20 AM to record on the beach during sunrise.

Very aesthetic. Very "couple goals." Very... didn't happen. 😂

By the time we actually started recording (11 AM, for the record), I was already triggered.

Why? Because I got an email saying our podcast is the 9th most popular in Czech Republic.

(We're in Vietnam. We're Slovak. We speak English. Only 2 people from Czech Republic listen to us. The math doesn't math, but whatever. 😅)

I was EXCITED. Like, genuinely hyped.

His response? "Ninth? Out of how many?"

And just like that... the spiral began.

Two Completely Different People, One Podcast

See, here's what we're learning (the hard way, apparently):

I'm a storyteller. I see life like a movie. Everything is dramatic, emotional, full of meaning and magic.

He's an analyst. He sees life in organized hotel corridors. Everything needs context, data, the full picture.

I speak in labyrinths — jumping from story to story, connecting dots in ways that don't make linear sense.

He speaks in straight lines — point A to point B, clear and structured.

And when we try to record a podcast together?

It's chaos.

I'm over here painting the picture, giving you ALL the details, the emotions, the drama...

And he's sitting there like... "Can I talk now?"

Except he doesn't always say it. He just... sits there. Processing. Waiting for space that I'm not giving him.

And then when he DOES share his perspective, I'm like "okay cool, but ANYWAY—"

You see the problem, right?

What This Episode Is Really About

Look, we could've cut all of this out.

But we kept the tension. The realness. The part where you can FEEL us struggling.

Because this episode isn't really about how we got to Bali (though that story is wild).

It's about what happens when two people with completely opposite energies try to build something together.

It's about:

✨ Learning to give space when you're used to taking it
✨ Learning to take space when you're used to waiting for permission
✨ Accepting that your partner sees the world differently than you do
✨ Choosing to stay even when it's hard, messy, and uncomfortable
✨ Figuring out if you can actually do this thing together... or if you need to do it separately

And honestly? We don't know the answer yet.

Maybe Tomash records the next one with me and I practice pausing more.

Maybe he takes a break and I record one solo.

Maybe we find a new format that works for both of us.

We're figuring it out. In real time. On air.

This Episode Is For You If...

💔 You've ever felt like you don't belong (even with the person you love most)

💔 You've fought with your partner about the SAME thing over and over

💔 You're building something together — a business, a life, a dream — and it feels HARD

💔 You want to hear what it ACTUALLY sounds like when two people choose to stay instead of run

💔 You're tired of the "perfect couple" BS and you want the REAL story

💔 You believe in love but you're not sure if you're doing it right

This one's raw. Messy. Uncomfortable at times.

But it's also real. Honest. And proof that love isn't about having it all figured out.

It's about choosing each other. Again and again. Even when it's hard.

Come Listen (If You Dare 😅)

Seriously, this episode is... a lot.

You'll hear us tell the story of how we almost ended up in a Dubai jail, made a $5,000 decision in 5 minutes at the airport, and packed our entire life in 24 hours to get to Bali.

But more importantly, you'll hear what happens when the storyteller meets the analyst. When the labyrinth meets the hotel corridor. When two people who love each other deeply... can't quite figure out how to share space.

It's not pretty. But it's real.

And if you've ever felt like your relationship is "too hard" or "not working" because you're so different from your partner?

This episode might just remind you: you're not alone. And different doesn't mean broken.

You can find What Is Life? on [Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube — wherever you listen to podcasts].

And if you make it to the end? Send us a fan mail on Apple Podcasts. Seriously. We wanna know:

Should Tomash record the next one? 😂
What did this bring up for you?
Are you living this too?

Tell us. We're listening. ❤️

With all our love (and chaos),

Martina & Tomash
(and Buchta 🐾)
